Welcome teachers, students, and fellow Belizeans!

T.A. (Teaching Assistant) Belize is designed to:
- Educate the Belizean population on environmental issues affecting both Belize and the world
- Provide a source of information for teachers interested in integrating these topics into their classes
- Inspire Belizeans to take the actions necessary for the preservation of our environment
Each topic contains one module and multiple supplementary materials.
The modules are the main lessons. They all contain a table of contents, a set of related learning goals extracted from the Ministry of Education curricula, and links to other websites with more information on the topic. The supplementary materials include a variety of classroom activities and extra information. The gallery has the images used in the modules. The Papers and Reports page has scientific papers and assessment reports focused on Belize. |

About the author

Hi everyone!
I'm Idalia Machuca, author of the modules, creator of this website, and proud Belizean.
I obtained an Associate's degree in Physics and Mathematics at St. John's College Junior College in Belize City, Belize. Then, I went on to study at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Geophysics with a minor in Oceanography.
I hope the material on this website helps teachers, students, and anyone who is concerned about the status of our environment, whether it be on a global or national scale. I would also like to thank the team at Oceana for their support and encouragement throughout the development of this project.
Enjoy!
